Parliamentary Committee on National Security
Islamabad – A crucial meeting of the Parliamentary Committee on National Security is scheduled to take place on Tuesday at 11:00 AM at the National Assembly hall. The session, convened by National Assembly Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq on the advice of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, will focus on the current security situation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan.

The meeting will be attended by members of the parliamentary committee, federal cabinet representatives, and leaders of all parliamentary parties or their designated representatives. The military leadership is set to deliver an in-camera briefing on the rising wave of terrorism in the two provinces, shedding light on the causes behind the recent surge in attacks targeting security forces.

The decision to hold the high-level discussion comes amid increased security concerns, with multiple incidents of terrorism reported in the region in recent weeks. The session was initially scheduled for 1:30 PM, but the timing was revised to 11:00 AM due to Ramadan, according to the National Assembly Secretariat.
