Passenger Sues Airline for Rs. 12 Million Over Missed Vegetarian Meal

A Pakistani passenger has filed a legal complaint in a consumer court, seeking Rs 12 million in damages from a local airline for allegedly failing to provide a pre-requested vegetarian meal during a domestic flight from Karachi to Lahore.

According to the lawsuit, the passenger had informed the airline of his dietary restrictions for medical reasons before the flight. However, no vegetarian meal was provided on board, leading to a dispute with the cabin crew. The passenger claims that when he raised the issue, he was mistreated by airline staff, which caused him emotional distress and discomfort throughout the journey.

The case has drawn attention on social media, sparking broader conversations around passenger rights, in-flight service standards, and the obligations of airlines to honour medical and dietary needs.

The matter is scheduled to be heard on May 27.
