PCB launches talent hunt program to discover young cricketers

LAHORE: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced the launch of a talent hunt program aimed at discovering new cricketing talent across the country.
PCB’s Chief Operating Officer (COO) Sameer Ahmed Syed, along with PCB Chairman’s Advisor Amir Mir and other officials, held a press conference at Gaddafi Stadium, emphasizing that the program aims to bring local talent into the spotlight.
Amir Mir stated that the PCB is set to introduce the talent hunt program at the school and college levels, focusing on promoting cricket and identifying emerging players. The registration process for the program will commence next month.
He further explained that players from schools to the under-16 level will be scouted through this initiative. The program is expected to enhance cricket at the grassroots level. Selected players will undergo training, and professional coaches will refine their skills to help them become part of the national team. This initiative will benefit both male and female cricketers in their journey towards representing Pakistan.
COO Sameer Ahmed Syed announced that the registration for the talent hunt program will begin on April 10. He also revealed that from September to November, a 40-over tournament will be organized. The matches will be officiated by PCB-appointed umpires and officials, and the best-performing players will receive coaching and all necessary facilities from the PCB.
