Following Israel’s airstrikes on Iran and the subsequent closure of Iranian airspace, Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has announced changes to the flight routes for several international destinations, including Gulf countries, Toronto, and Paris.

According to a PIA spokesperson, flights heading to Gulf nations are now using Omani airspace. Routes to Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, and the UAE are being managed through the Muscat Flight Information Region (FIR). Similarly, PIA flights to Toronto and Paris are also being rerouted through Oman’s air corridor.

Meanwhile, the Pakistan Airports Authority has confirmed that despite the regional security tensions, Pakistan’s airspace remains fully operational and secure.

Officials stated that international flights are passing through Pakistan’s air routes without any disruption, and increased air traffic is being managed professionally and efficiently.

The authority emphasised that there are no delays or obstacles for global carriers transiting through Pakistani skies, and the country’s airspace management system is effectively handling the surge in aviation traffic.
