Islamabad – A special ‘Youm-e-Tashakur’ ceremony was held at the Pakistan Monument to mark the success of Operation Bunyan Mursus, with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif as the chief guest. Tributes were paid to the martyrs who laid down their lives for the native land.

“Today is a day of gratitude—such days come once in centuries. “We salute our brave martyrs,” says PM Shehbaz in his address. He said the enemy launched an arrogant attack, killing innocent civilians, including a 6-year-old child.

“The enemy, who saw itself as South Asia’s police officer, had six of its fighter jets—including Rafales and drones—shot down by our forces,” he stated.

The PM shared that during a late-night meeting on May 9–10, the Army Chief informed him that missiles had been fired on Pakistani territory.

“We responded with such force that the enemy is now pleading for a ceasefire.”

He credited the victory to the nation’s prayers, the resolve of the armed forces, and the grace of God.

PM Shehbaz called for national unity and the pursuit of economic revival, saying:

“Now is the time to build the Pakistan envisioned by Quaid-e-Azam.”

He thanked friendly nations, particularly U.S. President Donald Trump, for playing a “constructive role” in reducing tensions.

It is to be noted that the event was attended by the Chair of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee, heads of all three armed services, Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, Defence Minister Khawaja Asif, Information Minister Attaullah Tarar, other federal ministers, and foreign diplomats.
