PM Shehbaz Forms High-Level Committee to Overhaul Government Performance Evaluation

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has constituted a high-level committee tasked with enhancing the government’s performance evaluation framework, according to an official notification released on Wednesday.

The newly formed committee includes key federal ministers and senior government officials. The finance minister will serve as the convener, while other prominent members include the minister for energy, the minister for climate change, and the chairman of the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR), among others.

The primary objective of the committee is to review the existing performance monitoring systems, particularly within the FBR, and propose a standardised model for evaluation and feedback across federal institutions. The initiative aims to boost transparency, accountability, and efficiency within public sector operations.

According to the notification, the committee has been directed to present its findings and recommendations to the Prime Minister within 30 days.
