Quetta: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif invited Baloch tribal leaders to identify regional issues and engage in dialogue, emphasising that peace and unity are essential to defeating terrorism.

Addressing a Grand Jirga in Quetta, he stated that Pakistan’s enemies want to hinder Balochistan’s development, but the nation must stand united.

Highlighting provincial solidarity, the PM said Punjab gave up part of its NFC share to support Balochistan—an example of national cohesion.

Shehbaz Sharif also announced that savings from reduced petroleum prices will be used to build roads in Balochistan, and solar systems and electricity subsidies will be provided to local farmers.

“Our government cannot even think of being unjust to Balochistan. “If there are any grievances, we are ready to listen — but we must stand together against terrorism,” he added.

Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti called the jirga a positive step and stressed that such gatherings should continue to find lasting solutions to regional challenges.
