PM Shehbaz Launches Fourth Phase of Laptop Scheme

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif inaugurated the fourth phase of the Prime Minister’s Youth Laptop Scheme 2025 in Islamabad. The event highlighted the government’s continued focus on investing in education, technology, and youth empowerment. Senior government officials, students, and alumni of previous laptop schemes attended the ceremony, which included a guard of honour for the recipients.
In his speech, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif expressed pride in the scheme’s ongoing success. He emphasized that the initiative is part of a larger vision to empower Pakistan’s youth. He recalled launching the program in 2010 as Punjab’s Chief Minister and stressed that despite challenges like natural disasters, funding for youth development remained uninterrupted. “Education and empowerment are our top priorities,” he said.
The Prime Minister also highlighted Pakistan’s progress in technological fields, such as artificial intelligence and semiconductor manufacturing. He called these developments signs of a bright future for Pakistan. Shehbaz Sharif expressed that the scheme is not for personal gain but for the youth, who he called “the future architects of Pakistan.” A new logo, “Youth of Pakistan: Making Pakistan Great,” was unveiled to represent this spirit of national pride.
Since 2011, more than 100,000 laptops have been distributed purely based on merit. The total investment in the program has reached Rs40–50 billion. Additionally, the government has allocated Rs500 billion for education, skills development, and youth empowerment. Shehbaz Sharif referred to this as an “investment in the nation’s destiny.”
The Prime Minister’s remarks reinforced the government’s commitment to preparing young people for future challenges. With ongoing initiatives like the Youth Laptop Scheme, Pakistan aims to foster innovation, education, and economic growth through its younger generation.
