PM Shehbaz Sharif Announces 100,000 Free Laptops for Talented Students

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has announced the distribution of 100,000 free laptops to deserving youth on merit. He made the announcement during an event marking International Youth Day.
The laptops will be given to students across all provinces, the federal capital, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Azad Kashmir. This initiative aims to support young people in their education and skill development. The programme reflects the government’s focus on empowering the nation’s youth.
According to the Prime Minister, the laptops will be distributed fairly and transparently. The selection will be based purely on merit.
He emphasised that no favouritism or political influence will be allowed. This ensures that talented students from all regions can benefit equally. The scheme aims to reduce the digital gap in education. Students will gain better access to technology for learning and innovation.
Shehbaz Sharif clarified that these laptops are separate from the loan-based schemes already in place. The government will provide them free of cost. This means that students will not have to pay back anything. The decision is meant to remove financial barriers for deserving learners. It also highlights the government’s commitment to investing in human capital.
The Prime Minister praised the potential of Pakistan’s youth. He said the country’s future depends on their education and skills. He added that young people are the driving force behind national progress. By providing them with technology, the government hopes to unlock new opportunities. This aligns with the broader vision of economic and social development.
