PMDC Releases New MDCAT 2025 Syllabus — Key Details for Aspiring Medical Students

Islamabad: The Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) has officially released the new syllabus for the Medical and Dental College Admission Test (MDCAT) 2025. The updated syllabus is now available on the PMDC’s official website.
According to PMDC President Professor Rizwan Taj, this year’s MDCAT exam is expected to take place either on the last Sunday of September or the first Sunday of October. The revised syllabus includes five core subjects: biology, chemistry, physics, English, and logical reasoning.
The exam will consist entirely of multiple-choice questions (MCQs), totalling 180 questions. The test duration will be three hours, and the difficulty level will be distributed as follows:
- 15% easy
- 70% moderate
- 15% difficult
Importantly, there will be no negative marking in the exam.
To qualify for admission:
- Candidates must score at least 55% for MBBS programmes.
- And 50% for BDS (dental) programmes
