Rawalpindi: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chief Whip Aamir Dogar has accused the police of physically assaulting him outside Adiala jail.

Speaking to the media, Dogar claimed that police officers tore off his clothes and beat him with batons. “This is the height of police brutality and lawlessness,” he said. “I am an elected Member of the National Assembly—look at how they are treating us.”

He added that multiple parliamentarians were subjected to similar violence, as if they were “criminals or repeat offenders.” According to Dogar, batons were used so brutally that many were broken during the assault.

He further alleged that female protesters were also not spared. “Democracy is being buried in this country,” he said. “What crime have the people committed who sent us here with their votes?”

Dogar described the crackdown as an attack on the PTI’s ideology, stating, “My victory was the victory of our founding leader’s vision. “These batons and FIRs won’t shake our resolve.”

He vowed to continue protesting until the release of PTI’s founding chair. “We are camped in front of this illegitimate parliament. “Our leadership is with us, and we are here for a peaceful sit-in.”
