Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif met Russian President Vladimir Putin in China
The meeting took place in Beijing, where both leaders greeted each other warmly and discussed ways to further strengthen bilateral relations.

 

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif stated that Pakistan is keen on expanding cooperation with Russia across various sectors, including trade, and is committed to promoting peace, development, and prosperity in the region.

President Vladimir Putin expressed his desire to enhance bilateral ties with Pakistan and conveyed his condolences for the damages caused by the ongoing floods in the country. He also invited Prime Minister Sharif to attend the SCO Summit in Moscow in November, to which the Prime Minister thanked him.

President Putin further noted that trade between the two countries has slightly declined and emphasized the need to improve it.

The meeting was attended by Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, Information Minister Attaullah Tarar, and Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir.
