Sajjad Mustafa, the Chairman of the Pakistan Software Houses Association (P@SHA), has assured that the ongoing internet connectivity and speed issues in Pakistan are expected to be resolved within the next three months.

In a recent interview, Mustafa explained that the current problems, such as difficulties with sending or receiving messages on platforms like WhatsApp, could be linked to ongoing monitoring efforts. He clarified that while issues like these are being investigated, they are not likely to persist long-term.

Mustafa also defended the government’s decision to install firewalls, explaining that such surveillance measures are common in many countries, though the approach may vary. He shared an example from the United States, where security officers are quick to respond to instances of illegal content being shared online.

However, the P@SHA Chairman emphasised that there is no issue with fixed-line internet, and IT professionals working full-time are not facing significant disruptions in their internet access.
Mustafa’s comments offer reassurance to both businesses and freelancers in Pakistan’s IT sector, as they await improvements in the country’s internet services.
