Karachi – The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) continued its strong bullish run on Thursday, with the KSE-100 Index crossing the 126,000-point milestone for the first time in its history. Investor confidence soared following the announcement of the Federal Budget 2025–26, which brought positive sentiment to the market.

During intraday trading, the benchmark KSE-100 Index surged by 1,950.51 points, reaching a new all-time high of 126,303.19 points, reflecting a 1.57% gain.

The market rally has largely been fuelled by the government’s decision in the proposed budget to keep Capital Gains Tax (CGT) and dividend tax rates unchanged, defying earlier expectations of an increase in taxes on passive income. This move has been widely welcomed by market participants and investors.

This surge follows another strong session on Wednesday, where the index gained 2,328.24 points, marking a 1.91% increase, and closed at 124,352.68 points.
