PTA Chairman issues clarification over exchange with Senator Aimal Wali

Chairman of the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA), Hafeez ur Rehman, has issued a statement addressing the reported disagreement with Senator Aimal Wali during a recent Senate committee meeting.

In his clarification, the chairman stated: The incident was the result of a misunderstanding, and he regrets that it occurred. A few light-hearted remarks were exchanged upon the senator’s return, with no intention of offending. If anyone was unintentionally hurt, he has already apologised before the committee. He holds Senator Aimal Wali and his family in high regard.

Hafeez ur Rehman further stated that the social media campaign against him is based on misinformation.

He emphasised the need to move forward with maturity and adopt a constructive and national-interest-driven approach.
