Islamabad: In a decisive move to counter disinformation, the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has blocked 16 Indian YouTube news channels, 31 video links, and 32 websites for spreading false information and anti-Pakistan propaganda.

According to PTA, the action was taken in light of the current regional tensions to safeguard national security and the integrity of Pakistan’s digital ecosystem. The blocked content included misleading and provocative narratives aimed at manipulating public opinion and undermining national unity.

The authority emphasized that this step is part of its ongoing efforts to curb the spread of misinformation and ensure responsible use of digital platforms in the country.

PTA reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining a safe and secure online environment for users and stated that it would continue to monitor online content and take strict action against anything that threatens national interests.
