PTCL launches Pakistan’s first WhatsApp bill payment service

Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL), the country’s leading ICT services provider, has introduced Pakistan’s first-ever WhatsApp-based bill payment solution in collaboration with PayFast, a State Bank of Pakistan-licensed Payment Service Provider. This innovative feature allows PTCL customers to view and pay their bills directly via WhatsApp, marking a revolutionary step in the telecom sector’s digital transformation.
The official signing ceremony took place at PTCL Headquarters in Islamabad, attended by senior officials from PTCL, eOcean, and PayFast. The service offers customers a variety of payment options, including leading banks and mobile wallets. The integration is powered by eOcean, a leading cloud communication provider, and ensures seamless and secure transactions.
To make a payment, customers provide their CNIC and account number, verify the transaction through a One-Time Password (OTP) sent to their registered mobile number, and receive an instant payment receipt within the chat. The WhatsApp bot offers additional features, such as real-time troubleshooting, bill inquiries, tax certificate requests, and subscription management for services such as Flash Fiber bolt-ons.
