PTI moves LHC for permission to hold Minar-e-Pakistan rally

Lahore: PTI has petitioned the Lahore High Court (LHC) for approval to hold a public rally at Minar-e-Pakistan on March 22, urging authorities to grant permission.
According to the petition, PTI intends to hold the gathering from 8 PM to midnight on March 22, emphasizing that the right to peaceful assembly is safeguarded under the Constitution of Pakistan. However, the Punjab administration has yet to issue a decision regarding the party’s request.
The petition lists key officials as respondents and claims that delaying the decision violates PTI’s rights, preventing them from holding an important public event.
The petition calls on the LHC to instruct the deputy commissioner and relevant authorities to promptly decide on PTI’s request and ensure the fundamental right to hold a peaceful public gathering is upheld.
As political tensions rise, PTI insists on its right to free speech and fair political activities. The party says it faces difficulties in getting permission for rallies due to government restrictions.
Experts are watching the court’s decision, as it may impact future political rallies. If allowed, PTI’s event at Minar-e-Pakistan could attract a big crowd and boost the party’s campaign.
The Lahore High Court will soon review the petition and decide if PTI can hold its rally on March 22. Supporters and analysts are waiting for the verdict.
