Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has issued directives for comprehensive security measures to ensure the safety of the public during the upcoming Chand Raat and Eid-ul-Fitr celebrations.

In her instructions, the Chief Minister emphasised the importance of protecting women and children, calling for an increased presence of women police squads in commercial areas and markets. She urged authorities to ensure a secure environment for families to celebrate the festive occasion without concerns.

In Lahore, additional police personnel have been deployed across 65 major commercial centres to maintain order and prevent any untoward incidents. To further strengthen surveillance, modern technology, including drone cameras and night vision binoculars, is being utilised for real-time monitoring of public spaces.

Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif also ordered strict vigilance to monitor suspicious activities in markets and crowded areas. In a bid to curb dangerous activities such as one-wheeling on Chand Raat, authorities have established checkpoints at 55 locations throughout the city.

To ensure public safety, 225 police officers have been assigned to monitor ATMs and bank areas, ensuring that citizens can access services without any security concerns.
