Punjab CM Maryam Nawaz highlights the role of digital learning in development.

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has emphasized the importance of technology and modern education in the era of digital learning. In her message on Digital Learning Day, she reiterated the government’s commitment to providing opportunities that equip the youth of Punjab with skills aligned with global advancements.

 

She stated that the CM Laptop Scheme would be a revolutionary initiative for students across the province, helping them stay connected with modern educational tools. Additionally, she highlighted the launch of advanced IT training programs, including courses on artificial intelligence (AI), software development, and freelancing, to prepare young individuals for the evolving job market.

The chief minister noted that certification programs for freelancers are being developed according to international job market standards, enabling them to enhance their career prospects. To further integrate technology into education, smart classrooms and digital labs are being established in government schools, making traditional learning more interactive and effective.

Maryam Nawaz also announced the development of Pakistan’s first “Nawaz Sharif IT City” in Lahore, which aims to serve as a hub for IT education and employment. The twin towers of the IT City are expected to be completed this year, along with a dedicated plug-and-play call center hub. She revealed that international IT universities have expressed interest in establishing campuses within the IT City, further boosting educational and professional opportunities for Pakistani youth.
