During her visit, Maryam Nawaz personally spoke with each injured officer, enquiring about their health and offering comfort. She praised the bravery of the security forces and acknowledged their sacrifices while performing their duties.
The injured officers shared their painful experiences, recounting how they were subjected to severe violence from the protesters. Many of the police officers suffered broken bones and eye injuries, with one officer revealing that his skull was badly damaged. Others reported being attacked with spiked sticks and shot at close range by PTI workers during the protests.
Maryam Nawaz expressed her deep concern over the violence and condemned the attackers. “The Rangers and police are the sons of the nation, and we take immense pride in their sacrifices. Those who committed such brutal acts will not be spared,” she said.
She also criticised the political party responsible for inciting the violence, stating, “The disruptive elements within PTI have intentionally obstructed the country’s progress by promoting chaos and violence. Attacks on state institutions, properties, and security personnel are completely unacceptable.”
The Chief Minister praised the role of the armed forces and security agencies in maintaining national peace and stability. “Our brave personnel in the armed forces and security services are sacrificing their lives to restore peace. Those who targeted them should feel ashamed of attacking the very people who keep the country safe,” she added.
Maryam Nawaz assured the injured officers that they would receive full medical and financial support, emphasising that both the federal and provincial governments owed a great debt to them. “We stand by the injured security personnel and their families during this difficult time,” she said.
She concluded by vowing that the perpetrators of the attacks would be brought to justice. “We will ensure that those responsible for injuring our security personnel are held accountable and punished severely as an example to others,” Maryam Nawaz affirmed.
