Punjab Doubles T-Cash Card Price, Commuters Concerned

T-Cash Card Price

The Punjab Transport Department has raised the price of the T-Cash card, which is used for mass transit travel across the province. The price hike has doubled the card’s cost, increasing it from Rs130 to Rs260. The new charges include a delivery fee of Rs130 on top of the original card price, a move that has raised concerns among commuters.

Many daily travelers, especially those who rely on the metro bus and Orange Line train, are now facing higher commuting costs. The T-Cash card is used on various mass transit systems in cities like Lahore, Rawalpindi, and Multan. Passengers are frustrated that the department has passed on the delivery fee to them instead of absorbing the extra cost.

Officials confirmed that the public will have to pay the full amount, which includes both the base price and the new delivery fee. This decision directly affects commuters who already struggle with rising costs of living and inflation. Many feel the increase places an unnecessary financial burden on working-class passengers who use public transport daily.

The T-Cash card price hike has sparked a wave of criticism. Commuters argue that the additional charges make the already affordable services less accessible to the public. For thousands of passengers in Punjab, this price increase adds to the growing financial challenges they face.

This change in pricing is expected to impact many daily travelers, especially in larger cities. As the government continues to roll out these adjustments, it remains to be seen if there will be any pushback or if commuters will continue to use the mass transit system despite the increased cost.
