Dhee Rani Programme
Lahore: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has taken a historic step by extending the “Dhee Rani Programme” to daughters of prison inmates. The initiative has been described as a new ray of hope by Provincial Minister for Social Welfare and Bait-ul-Mal, Sohail Shoukat Butt.

He explained that, on the Chief Minister’s instructions, formal directions have been issued to all regional directors of the Social Welfare Department. Prisoners’ data has also been made mandatory for the programme to ensure that no deserving daughter is left behind.

According to Sohail Shoukat Butt, 124 applications have already been received from the Multan Division. These applications request financial support for the marriages of inmates’ daughters under the programme.

The minister stressed that this decision shows the Punjab government stands firmly with every daughter. He added that no girl should be deprived of happiness because of her father’s imprisonment.

He further noted that, under CM Maryam Nawaz’s vision, the “Dhee Rani Programme” is not only financial aid but also a model of social justice.
