Punjab Minister Says Maryam Nawaz Won’t Apologize Over Remarks

Punjab Information Minister Azma Bukhari firmly stated that CM Maryam Nawaz will not apologize for her recent comments. She responded to PPP’s demand for an apology, saying Maryam Nawaz stands by her statements made at a public gathering. Bukhari emphasized that the CM is working for the rights of Punjabis and has no reason to apologize. She highlighted the praise Lahore’s development receives and compared it with other regions. According to her, Sindh wishes it had a CM like Maryam Nawaz.

Bukhari also touched on the Cholistan water canal issue, noting Punjab’s restraint despite Sindh’s protests. She urged the PPP to focus on its own governance instead of interfering in Punjab’s affairs. The minister stressed that PML-N is committed to doing its job for the province’s development. She dismissed calls for political distractions during critical times. Bukhari said the focus should remain on helping people, not on politics.

She further highlighted that Maryam Nawaz is actively aiding flood victims and working to support affected communities. The minister made it clear that the Punjab government has full authority to decide how to help those in need. She dismissed PPP’s suggestions as non-binding and said Punjab is already performing better than before. According to Bukhari, the CM has the prerogative to decide how best to assist the people of Punjab.

Bukhari accused PPP of offering advice that Punjab may or may not accept. She claimed the current government’s actions are more effective than previous efforts under BISP. The minister emphasized that the priority is the welfare of flood-affected citizens, not political point-scoring. She urged all parties to cooperate in helping those suffering from the recent disasters.

In conclusion, Azma Bukhari reaffirmed that Maryam Nawaz will not apologize for her remarks. She called for unity and focus on progress instead of political bickering. Bukhari insisted Punjab’s leadership remains dedicated to serving its people despite criticism. The minister urged PPP to respect Punjab’s decisions and avoid unnecessary interference.
