Punjab Sets New Record: Over 50,000 Homes Built Under ‘Apni Chhat Apna Ghar’ Scheme

Lahore: A major milestone has been achieved under Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz’s flagship housing initiative “Apni Chhat, Apna Ghar”, as the construction of over 50,000 homes has been recorded in just a few months, setting a new precedent in the province’s history.

According to official reports, by the end of June, the programme successfully met its target of over 50,000 homes. Under this scheme, more than 51,911 housing loans have been disbursed so far, totalling Rs. 57.90 billion, offering financial aid to low- and middle-income families looking to construct their own homes.

Out of these, 5,293 houses have been fully constructed and are now inhabited, while the construction of an additional 41,324 homes is rapidly progressing across various districts.

The programme is being praised for not only providing people with an affordable route to homeownership but also creating employment opportunities in the construction and related sectors. With its inclusive approach, the “Apni Chhat, Apna Ghar” project is recognised as a significant step towards improving housing access and uplifting communities across Punjab.
