As Eid al-Adha approaches, the Punjab Home Department has issued comprehensive directives to enhance security arrangements across the province. In light of potential threats, officials have emphasised the need for heightened vigilance to ensure public safety during the festive period.

Key instructions include increasing security at vital installations and sensitive locations throughout Punjab. Deputy Commissioners have been tasked with implementing specialised security plans in all districts, ensuring strict adherence and readiness to tackle any emergencies through effective disaster management protocols.

Police and administrative authorities are urged to remain actively engaged on the ground to maintain law and order. Strict screening will be enforced at all entry and exit points of the province. Divisional and district intelligence committees are instructed to convene urgent meetings to finalise security plans.

Deputy Commissioners have been granted authority to enforce Section 144 where necessary to prevent public disorder. Livestock markets are to be relocated outside city limits to designated areas, with security personnel assigned to all such venues. Sale of sacrificial animals outside approved locations is strictly prohibited.

Furthermore, only organisations registered with the Punjab Charity Commission will be permitted to collect sacrificial animal hides, and banned groups are barred from any related activities.

Eid prayers will be conducted under stringent security, with additional arrangements made at Eidgahs, mosques, and religious schools. The installation of CCTV cameras and walk-through gates will ensure thorough screening of attendees. The Punjab Sound Systems Regulations Act 2015 will be strictly enforced during all Eid gatherings.

Search operations will be conducted around sensitive sites in collaboration with intelligence agencies. Parking and traffic diversion plans will be implemented to facilitate smooth movement near Eidgahs.

Hospitals have been instructed to maintain adequate staff and medical supplies, while health, civil defence, and rescue services remain on high alert.
