The train service from Quetta to Chaman has been restored after a four-day suspension, railway officials confirmed. However, train operations from Quetta to other provinces remain suspended.

The suspension of train services began on March 11 following an attack on the Jaffar Express, which caused significant damage to the railway infrastructure.

Meanwhile, railway authorities have declared the Mushkaf railway track and surrounding areas in Kachhi district, Balochistan, as clear for operations.

In response to the attack, relief trains were dispatched from Sibi and Machh to assist in track repairs. Officials confirmed that repair work began today (Sunday), as the attack had damaged the train’s engine, five carriages, and 382 feet of track.

The repair work is expected to take 8 to 10 hours, with authorities making efforts to restore full railway services as soon as possible. The government and railway officials are closely monitoring the situation to ensure safe and uninterrupted travel for passengers.
