Rain and Thunderstorms Expected in Karachi from Today: PMD Forecast

Karachi: The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast rain and thunderstorms in Karachi starting Thursday afternoon (June 27). According to the Met Office, the rain is expected to continue intermittently until Sunday, with heavier showers likely on Friday and Saturday.
The weather department added that sea breezes in the city are currently suspended, contributing to rising humidity and discomfort. In the previous 24 hours, Gulshan-e-Hadeed recorded the highest rainfall at 17 mm, followed by 13.4 mm on University Road and 12 mm at PAF Faisal Base.
The PMD further stated that the second phase of the monsoon is expected to begin on July 5, bringing multiple spells of rainfall throughout the month.
