ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister’s Adviser on Political Affairs, Rana Sanaullah, has stated that the government has exercised restraint for a long time regarding Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) ongoing protests but emphasised that PTI’s refusal to engage in dialogue has only exacerbated the situation.

The senior Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader criticised PTI for rejecting repeated offers for talks, adding that the party’s actions since being removed from power had only contributed to chaos and anarchy in the country. “The PTI, since its removal from government, has unleashed turmoil across the country,” said Rana Sanaullah.

He further questioned the direction in which PTI founder Imran Khan is leading the nation, urging the public to reflect on the party’s actions and its impact on Pakistan’s stability.

Sources revealed that Rana Sanaullah and fellow PML-N leader Ahsan Iqbal recently held extensive consultations with party president and former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif in Lahore. The meeting focused on the party’s strategy regarding political and governmental affairs moving forward.

During the discussions, the leaders finalised the party’s stance on key political issues and decided to maintain the current federal setup while focusing on performance in Punjab. “We have no other option but to provide relief and improve performance,” said Rana Sanaullah, adding that PML-N intends to approach the upcoming elections with an emphasis on utilising all available resources to deliver results in Punjab.
