Peshawar High Court extends protective bail for Bushra Bibi

RAWALPINDI: A court in Rawalpindi on Thursday issued arrest warrants for Bushra Bibi, the wife of former Prime Minister Imran Khan, in connection with the Toshakhana II case.

The decision was made during a hearing presided over by Central Judge Shah Rukh Arjumand at Adiala Jail. The court took this step due to Bushra Bibi’s repeated absence from court proceedings and rejected her request for exemption from today’s hearing.

In addition to the arrest warrants, the court issued a notice to Bushra Bibi’s guarantor, questioning why her surety bonds should not be forfeited due to her noncompliance with the court’s orders.
Earlier in the day, the Islamabad High Court also issued a notice to Bushra Bibi following a request by the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) to cancel her bail in the same case.
