Renowned Pakistani Chef Zakir Qureshi Passes Away at 57 in Karachi

Celebrated culinary expert and television personality Chef Zakir Qureshi has passed away in Karachi at the age of 57. According to family sources, he had been battling kidney disease and was receiving dialysis treatment in the United States. After doctors declared his condition untreatable, he returned to Pakistan about a month ago to spend his remaining time with loved ones.
His funeral prayer will be held tomorrow after Asr at Jamia Rashidiah in Malir Saudabad. He will be laid to rest at the Saudabad graveyard.
Chef Zakir was widely admired for his distinctive cooking style and ability to simplify complex recipes for everyday audiences. His cooking shows gained immense popularity across Pakistan and beyond, earning him a devoted following that spanned generations.
Born on February 16, 1967, Zakir Qureshi rose to fame through his appearances on various Pakistani television channels, where he shared his culinary expertise with warmth and clarity. His contributions played a key role in popularising professional cooking techniques among home cooks.
