A resolution calling for a ban on the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), a prominent opposition party, was submitted to the Punjab Assembly Secretariat on Monday.
The resolution, introduced by PML-N member Hina Parvez Butt, described PTI as an “extremist party” and urged for its immediate prohibition.
The document strongly condemned the alleged attacks on the Federation PTI workers, emphasising that such actions were unacceptable. “This House strongly condemns the assault on national institutions by organised groups of PTI workers,” the resolution stated.
The move reflects escalating tensions between the government and PTI amid ongoing political unrest. It remains to be seen how the resolution will be received in the assembly and what steps may follow regarding the proposed ban.
