Rubi Anum Issues Apology Over Remarks About Bushra Ansari

Actress Rubi Anum has issued a fresh clarification and apology after facing criticism from senior colleagues and a storm of backlash on social media over her recent comments regarding veteran actress Bushra Ansari.

During a recent podcast appearance, Rubi Anum made remarks about Bushra Ansari’s age, suggesting she should consider taking a rest. The comments triggered widespread criticism from fans and fellow artists, while Bushra Ansari indirectly responded in her vlog, stressing that language, whether used positively or negatively, defines a person’s character.

Rubi Anum initially released a short video explanation, stating that she had no intention of hurting anyone, but insisted that if her words offended people, she was sorry. Social media users, however, felt that her message lacked a direct apology to Bushra Ansari.

Explaining the situation, Rubi Anum said that interviews are often edited while recording, and since she has a playful nature, a light-hearted comment made in the moment ended up being highlighted out of context. She added that she had not spoken negatively about anyone during the entire interview.

The actress emphasised her warm relationship with Asma Abbas, stating that she holds immense respect and affection for her and could never imagine insulting her or any other senior artist. She further stressed that she does not believe in achieving success by pulling others down.
