Saif Ali Khan records police statement regarding attack on him

Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan has opened up about a terrifying incident that took place at his Mumbai residence, where he was attacked by an intruder with a knife. For the first time, Saif shared the chilling details of how he protected his family during the ordeal on January 16.

In his statement to the police, Saif explained that the incident occurred between 2:30 and 2:40 am when he heard loud noises in his house. “I was in my room on the 12th floor with my wife, Kareena Kapoor, when I heard my younger son Jeh crying. I rushed out to check,” Saif recalled.

As he reached the 11th floor, where Jeh and his caregiver were, Saif saw a stranger arguing loudly with Jeh’s nurse. The man was holding a knife, and sensing danger, Saif attempted to overpower him. “He attacked me, stabbing my back, neck, and hands multiple times. Despite my injuries, I managed to trap him inside the room. During this time, Jeh was safely taken out by the nurse,” Saif added.

Kareena and his children were shocked to see him injured and bleeding. Saif was rushed to a local hospital in a rickshaw instead of their private vehicle, as time was critical. The doctors removed a 2.5-inch blade fragment near his spine during surgery. Saif sustained six injuries, two of which were deep, but he has since been discharged after six days in the hospital and is recovering well.

The incident, which occurred during an attempted robbery at his Bandra residence, has raised serious questions about safety in the area. Despite the traumatic experience, Saif’s quick thinking and bravery saved his family from harm.
