Pakistan’s opening batsman, Saime Ayub, has emphasized that the team’s goal is not just to win the match against India but to secure the entire Asia Cup trophy. Speaking at a press conference ahead of the high-stakes match in Dubai, Ayub stated that they would play fearless cricket against every team, and their eyes are set on the bigger picture — the Asia Cup.

In response to a question about team selection, Ayub explained that the playing XI is always chosen based on the pitch conditions. If the pitch is dry, spinners get the opportunity to shine. He also added that the team is focused on winning under pressure, as that is often when real success happens. “When one player wins a match, everyone forgets their past performances. The goal is to win as a team,” he said.

Ayub mentioned that he doesn’t have many specific memories from the Pakistan-India T20 match played in the US but highlighted that the management’s advice is to learn from the past and focus on the present. “We have to stay focused on the here and now, and that’s where our attention is,” he said.

With an optimistic outlook, Saime Ayub stressed that the team is determined to not only perform well but also to lift the Asia Cup, showcasing the power of collective team effort over individual success.
