Saudi Arabia backs Pakistan’s mediation efforts in Middle East crisis

Saudi Arabia has expressed support for Pakistan’s diplomatic efforts aimed at mediating the ongoing Middle East crisis and has called for the safe and uninterrupted navigation of the Strait of Hormuz, according to an official statement issued by the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The statement voiced deep concern over the evolving regional situation and stressed the urgent need for de-escalation. Riyadh urged all parties involved to exercise patience, restraint, and responsibility in order to avoid further deterioration of the security environment.
Saudi Arabia specifically endorsed Pakistan’s role in facilitating dialogue between conflicting sides, highlighting that diplomatic engagement and political solutions remain the only viable path to preventing further instability and security threats in the region.
Amid rising military tensions, the kingdom reiterated the importance of constructive negotiations and supported efforts led by Pakistan to promote peace and stability. It emphasized that continued escalation would not serve the interests of the region or the wider international community.
The Saudi foreign ministry also warned that further conflict could significantly undermine regional security and disrupt global economic stability, particularly through its impact on critical energy and trade routes.
In addition, the statement underlined the importance of maintaining safe navigation in the Strait of Hormuz, one of the world’s most strategic maritime corridors. It called for uninterrupted maritime traffic and urged all sides to restore conditions to those prior to February 28, in order to safeguard global shipping and energy supplies.
Saudi Arabia’s position comes at a time of heightened tensions in the region, where multiple diplomatic initiatives are underway to prevent further escalation and to stabilize the security situation through dialogue and cooperation.
