Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development has declared Tuesday, September 23, a public holiday for all workers. The announcement applies to both government and private sector employees. Schools, banks, and government offices will also remain closed. The holiday marks the Kingdom’s 95th National Day. It offers a chance for the nation to celebrate its unity and rich heritage.

National Day honors the historic unification of Saudi Arabia in 1932 under King Abdulaziz Al Saud. Since then, the day has become a powerful symbol of pride. Citizens across the country take part in cultural events, concerts, and fireworks. Streets and buildings are decorated with flags and patriotic displays. The celebration brings together communities from all walks of life.

This year’s theme is “Our Pride Lies in Our Nature.” It highlights the Kingdom’s natural beauty and cultural traditions. The message reflects a growing focus on preserving heritage while embracing the future. Events will showcase local music, art, and nature-inspired performances. The theme supports national goals tied to Vision 2030.

National Day has grown in importance over the years. First observed in 1965 by King Faisal, it became an official holiday in 2005. King Abdullah issued the royal decree making it permanent. Since then, the celebration has expanded nationwide. The day is now a key part of the Saudi calendar.

The government’s decision to grant a holiday shows its dedication to national unity. It allows all residents to take part in the celebrations. Officials encourage everyone to reflect on the Kingdom’s progress. They also hope citizens will support its future goals. National Day serves as both a tribute to history and a step toward continued growth.
