Supreme Court issues notice on petitions against the 26th constitutional amendment
A seven-member constitutional bench will hear intra-court appeals today (Tuesday) challenging the decisions related to civilians being tried in military courts. The bench, led by Justice Amin-ud-Din Khan, will listen to further arguments from the Defence Ministry’s counsel, Khawaja Haris, who has presented his case for the past two weeks.

The bench includes Justices Jamal Khan Mandokhail, Muhammad Ali Mazhar, and others. In a previous session, the bench had requested the Ministry of Defence to provide additional details regarding the ongoing trials of civilians in military courts.

The case was last heard on January 17, but it was de-listed the following Monday due to Justice Shahid Bilal Hassan’s unavailability.
