Severe heat or torrential rain? Meteorological Department’s forecast

The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has issued a weather advisory predicting a heatwave in several parts of the country from April 26 to April 30. According to the forecast, temperatures are expected to rise significantly, especially in the southern and upper regions of the country.
The southern regions of Pakistan are likely to experience a noticeable increase in temperature, while the upper parts—including Punjab, Islamabad, Murree, Galiyat, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir, and Gilgit-Baltistan—will also see warmer-than-usual weather during this period.
However, relief is expected at the end of the month, as rain-bearing winds are likely to move toward the northern parts of the country starting April 30. The PMD forecasts that between April 30 and May 1, scattered rain, thunderstorms, and gusty winds may occur in Islamabad, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir, and Gilgit-Baltistan.
