Shaheen Shah Afridi Named Captain of HBL PSL X Team of the Tournament

Shaheen Shah Afridi Leads Team of HBL PSL X After Stellar Tournament Performance.
Lahore – Star pacer Shaheen Shah Afridi has been named captain of the Team of HBL PSL X, following his outstanding performance leading Lahore Qalandars to their third PSL title in four years. The announcement came shortly after the Qalandars’ six-wicket victory over Quetta Gladiators in the final at Gaddafi Stadium.
The 25-year-old fast bowler not only clinched the Fazal Mahmood Cap for finishing as the top wicket-taker with 19 dismissals in 13 matches, but also earned praise for his tactical leadership throughout the tournament.
The Team of the Tournament, selected by HBL PSL X commentary panel, features standout performers from across the league, including players from all six franchises.
Afridi is joined by Qalandars teammates Sikandar Raza (254 runs and 10 wickets) and Fakhar Zaman (439 runs, 4 fifties), both of whom played key roles in Qalandars’ campaign.
Quetta Gladiators, the 2019 champions, contributed three players to the squad: dynamic batter Hasan Nawaz (399 runs), all-rounder Faheem Ashraf (17 wickets, 163 runs), and spinner Abrar Ahmed (17 wickets).
Karachi Kings, who finished third, also had three representatives: captain David Warner (368 runs), opener James Vince (378 runs), and pacer Hasan Ali (17 wickets). All-rounder Khushdil Shah was named as the 12th man.
Islamabad United’s Sahibzada Farhan, who won the Hanif Mohammad Cap for being the highest run-getter (449 runs in 12 matches), was the sole representative from his franchise and also took wicket-keeping duties in the XI.
