Karachi: Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah has written another letter to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif expressing strong reservations regarding the neglect of Sindh in the motorway projects.

In the letter, CM Shah questioned why Sindh had been overlooked in the motorway projects and emphasized the importance of the M-6 motorway from Hyderabad to Sukkur, requesting its immediate construction as the only route connecting the south to the north of the country. The letter also references a prior communication to the Prime Minister on March 6, 2024, regarding this issue.

Murad Ali Shah raised concerns about the allocation of funds, highlighting that the National Highway Authority (NHA) has allocated less than 5% of the total budget for Sindh, while Punjab has been allotted 38.65% for 33 projects. Sindh, despite having 6 projects, has been allocated only 4.34% of the total funds.

Additionally, he expressed disappointment over the allocation for other regions, such as Gilgit-Baltistan receiving 4.40% for 4 projects and Azad Kashmir receiving a mere 0.16% for one project.

The Chief Minister has urged for immediate funding to be allocated for the Hyderabad to Sukkur M-6 motorway project and instructed the NHA to begin work on it without any further delays.
