Sindh Government Launches Free Pink EV Scooty Scheme for Women

KARACHI: In a move to support women’s mobility and independence, the Sindh government has launched the Pink EV Scooty Scheme, offering free electric scooters to female students and working women across the province.
The initiative, introduced by the Transport and Mass Transit Department, is designed to empower women by providing them with a safe and eco-friendly mode of transportation.
Eligibility Criteria:
To apply for the scheme, applicants must:
- Be a permanent resident of Sindh
- Be a student or a working woman.
- Hold a valid motorbike or car driving licence
- Agree not to sell or sublet the scooty for at least seven years.
Shortlisted candidates will be selected through a transparent balloting process, and successful applicants must also pass a road safety skill test.
Distribution Process:
- Scooties will be distributed via a balloting process held in the presence of print and electronic media to ensure transparency.
- A committee including members from the Excise, Transport, and Finance departments and media personnel will oversee the process.

- Visit the Sindh Mass Transit Authority’s official website.
- Go to the “Projects” section.
- Click on “EV Scooty Ballot Form – Application Form”
