Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah presented the provincial government’s one-year performance report on Wednesday, highlighting key developments and initiatives.

During a ceremony attended by ministers, advisers, assembly members, bureaucrats, and civil society representatives, Murad Ali Shah emphasized that the government’s actions align with its leadership’s vision.

He pointed out that the Sindh government has made significant strides in digitalization. He noted that while technology was limited during his student days, advancements have now transformed governance. One key initiative has been the launch of the “Hari Card” by PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, allowing farmers to register digitally. Over the past year, Rs 28 billion was distributed to farmers, and 13,428 students completed their education under government programs.

Infrastructure development was another focus, with 196 new road schemes launched, resulting in the construction of 2,500 kilometres of roads across Sindh. Additionally, 14 government buildings have been solarized, leading to an 80% reduction in electricity consumption.

Regarding the wheat supply, Murad Ali Shah assured that an agreement with a company has ensured proper quality control for wheat stocks. He further announced that Sindh will not purchase wheat this year, as the province already has 1.3 million tonnes in stock.

Other achievements include opening 1.1 million bank accounts and completing 400,000 houses under development projects. The World Bank’s Board of Directors recently visited and commended the initiative for its high level of transparency.
