KARACHI – The Sindh government has launched the Sindh Job Portal (SJP), a new online platform for job applications. This initiative aims to streamline the recruitment process and make it more accessible and transparent. The portal allows residents of Sindh to apply for government jobs from the comfort of their homes. A video tutorial has been released, guiding users through the step-by-step application process.
The SJP was developed to ensure fair recruitment practices and reduce corruption in the hiring process. It allows candidates to retake recruitment tests multiple times, with the first attempt fully funded by the government. The portal conducts monthly tests, and results are available immediately after completion. All necessary documents, such as matriculation certificates and CNICs, are uploaded to the platform to create a comprehensive candidate database.
Once candidates pass the required test, they can apply for government vacancies posted by different departments on the portal. Job ads will also be published in newspapers simultaneously, ensuring broad access. The portal is fully digital, making it easier for both job seekers and government departments to connect efficiently. It covers all job grades, initially focusing on Grades 5 to 15, but now extends to all government positions.
The Sindh Job Portal integrates digital processing for job applications, interviews, and appointments. It features AI-based job matching, multilingual support, and voice-enabled searches in Urdu and English. The platform also allows for online verification of medical and police records, streamlining background checks. Notifications about job progress are sent to candidates via SMS, email, and in-portal updates.
This digital platform, developed by the Science and Information Technology Department with Sukkur IBA University, marks a significant step toward e-governance in Sindh. It promotes transparency, reduces recruitment costs, and ensures merit-based hiring. By integrating various departments and services into one platform, the SJP is set to transform public service recruitment in the province.
