South Africa Announces Squads for Pakistan Tour
Cricket South Africa has announced its squads for the upcoming tour of Pakistan, with key changes in leadership and player selections across all three formats.

The South African team will play two Tests, three ODIs, and three T20Is during the tour. Test captain Temba Bavuma has been ruled out due to a muscle strain, and Aiden Markram will lead the side in his absence. Spinner Keshav Maharaj has been added only for the second Test as he continues his recovery process.

In the white-ball formats, David Miller has been named captain for the T20I series, while Matthew Breetzke will serve as the interim skipper in the ODIs.

In a major development, wicketkeeper-batter Quinton de Kock has reversed his ODI retirement and has been included in both the ODI and T20I squads. De Kock had announced retirement after the 2023 World Cup but recently expressed his desire to return, making his comeback after the 2024 T20 World Cup.

This series will be Pakistan’s first in the new World Test Championship cycle. The first Test will begin on October 12 in Lahore, followed by the second Test on October 20 in Rawalpindi.

The teams will then play a three-match T20I series, starting on October 28 in Rawalpindi, with the remaining two games scheduled at Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore, on October 31 and November 1.

The tour will conclude with a three-match ODI series in Faisalabad on November 4, 6, and 8.
