Special courts

The federal government has established special courts across Pakistan to ensure the protection of lawyers, following a notification issued in Islamabad and all four provinces. This move comes in line with the Lawyers’ Welfare and Protection Act of 2013.

The decision to create these courts was made in consultation with the chief justices of all high courts in the country. Under the new framework, additional session judges in Islamabad and the provinces will be granted judicial powers to oversee the functioning of these special courts.

The Ministry of Law and Justice has formally issued a notification to implement the establishment of these courts, aiming to enhance the safety and security of legal professionals in the country.
