State Bank releases financial statements, reports net profit of Rs 2,500 billion


Karachi: The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has released its annual financial statements for the fiscal year 2024–25, accompanied by the official auditor’s report.
According to the central bank, the statements have been prepared in compliance with Section 40(3) of the SBP Act, 1956, and have been submitted to both the Federal Government and Parliament.
As per the official press release, the SBP recorded a net profit of Rs 2.5 trillion during the fiscal year. After fulfilling statutory requirements and allocations under the accounting framework, a surplus of Rs 2.428 trillion has been transferred to the federal government.
The substantial profit is seen as a significant development, contributing to macroeconomic stability and supporting the government’s fiscal management efforts.
