The Pakistan Space & Upper Atmosphere Research Commission (SUPARCO) has granted Starlink a No Objection Certificate (NOC), marking a significant step toward introducing satellite-based internet services in Pakistan.

Federal Minister Shaza Fatima Khawaja highlighted Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s leadership and the government’s collaborative efforts in ensuring that Starlink meets cybersecurity regulations. The approval from SUPARCO is a crucial milestone, bringing Pakistan closer to enhanced digital connectivity.

Once all licensing conditions are fulfilled, the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) will officially grant Starlink its operational license. This move aligns with Pakistan’s broader vision of expanding internet access, particularly in remote and underserved regions where traditional broadband infrastructure remains limited.

The introduction of Starlink’s satellite internet service is expected to revolutionize connectivity in Pakistan, providing high-speed internet to areas with limited coverage. Industry experts anticipate that this development will support economic growth, digital inclusion, and innovation in the country.

With regulatory approvals progressing, stakeholders are optimistic about the positive impact of satellite-based internet services in bridging the digital divide and advancing Pakistan’s technological landscape.
