ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court of Pakistan has removed Additional Registrar (Judicial) Nazar Abbas from his position following a controversy regarding the improper scheduling of a constitutional bench case. The decision came after it was revealed that Abbas had mistakenly assigned the case to a regular bench rather than the designated constitutional bench.

A notification issued by the Additional Registrar (Administration) stated that Nazar Abbas has now been assigned as an officer on special duty (OSD). The statement cited the grave error in scheduling the case, which led to a waste of time and resources for both the court and litigants.

The notification further mentioned that the registrar of the Supreme Court has been instructed to conduct a thorough review of the matter.
