Renowned poet, naat-reciter, and speaker Syed Salman Gilani was laid to rest in Lahore on Sunday. He passed away on Saturday after illness. His funeral took place at Jamia Ashrafia. Later, family and followers buried him at Mustafa Town Graveyard. A large number of people attended the funeral prayers.
Sheikh-ul-Hadith Hazrat Maulana Muhib-un-Nabi led the funeral prayers. Religious scholars and political leaders joined the gathering. Jamat-e-Islami Deputy Ameer Liaqat Baloch attended the ceremony. Dr. Fareed Ahmed Paracha and MNA Saif-ul-Maluk Khokhar were also present. Many admirers gathered to pay their final respects.
Moreover, several speakers paid tribute to the late scholar. Maulana Amjad Khan addressed the gathering with emotional words. Maulana Salahuddin Ayubi highlighted his religious services. Maulana Syed Abdul Khabeer Azad praised his dedication to faith. They remembered his lifelong struggle for Khatm-e-Nubuwwat. They also honored his defense of the Prophet’s companions and Ahl-e-Bayt.

Gilani had been suffering from a heart condition for some time. Recently, doctors admitted him to the hospital due to pneumonia. Despite treatment, his health did not improve. Eventually, he passed away, leaving behind many followers. His death saddened religious circles across the country.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif expressed condolences. On his behalf, DG PID Shafqat Abbas placed a floral wreath on the grave. The Federal Minister for Information also shared sympathies. Leaders praised Gilani’s services for Islam and scholarship. His supporters will remember his voice and message for years.
